The 2019 Annual Meeting of the Members will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 7 p.m. at the Space Coast Health Foundation Center.

One of the items of business is the election to fill open positions on the Board of Directors. We have two seats expiring (seat #1, seat #2). The Nominating Committee, made up of three members (one Board Director and two non-Board members) has nominated Moses Harvin and Jim Platman to continue serving in their current seats. These nominees have been serving on the Community Credit Union Board of Directors and several Committees and have many years of experience.

Additional nominations for these open positions can be made by petition signed by at least one percent (1%) of the current credit union membership and a completed volunteer application must be filed. Service on the Board or Committee requires you to be a primary member. In order to be validated, the petitions and volunteer application must be submitted to Tina Webster, Executive Secretary by close of business February 5, 2019. Petitions submitted after this date will not be accepted. Elections will not be conducted by ballot, and nominations from the floor will not be taken when there is only one nominee for each open position.

Mark your calendars to attend the 2019 Annual Meeting of the Members and help us to celebrate 66 years of service to the community! There will be refreshments and prize giveaways. All Community Credit Union members are welcome to attend!

**Please note the location change of the meeting. The meeting will be held next door at the Space Coast Health Foundation Collaboration Center, 1100 Rockledge Blvd, Rockledge 32955.

One of the most important numbers consumers have is their credit score: it affects the ability to purchase a home, buy a car, get a credit card, and other financial decisions - but it can also hinder them. This workship reviews types of credit scoring models currently used including FICO, Vantage, non traditional, and bankruptcy risk. Participants will understand why these mathematical assessments were developed and how they can use them to their advantage.

A job loss, medical crisis, or other hardship can send a normal financial situation into a tailspin. Participants will learn how to get their finances back on track, including budgeting, repaying debt, rebuilding credit, establishing emergency savings, and replenishing retirement savings.

Credit: Many want it, but how do you get it? This session covers all aspects of becoming an educated credit consumer, including how lenders evaluate for credit approval, factors that impact credit qualification, how credit scoring works, and ways money management today impacts credit standing tomorrow.

Many financial planners say it’s wise to invest your savings in the stock market rather than leave your money in a low-interest account. Before you jump into the stock market, it’s important to know that investing in stocks comes with risks. This workshop provides the basics needed to get a clear understanding of the stock market, the risks involved, ways to reduce risks, how to buy stocks, and how to maintain your account.
